Screenings and exhibitions, that reveal the process of creating animated films.
The work developed in the context of animation workshops and the aspiration to build audience and give the recognition to the participant filmmakers were the reasons that lead to start organizing film screenings and exhibitions. Since 1999 these events were held in various cultural venues of Porto and other cities, extending the range of activities and widening intervention areas of Anilupa.
As part of CINANIMA - Espinho International Animation Film Festival, Anilupa participated with the exhibition “Anilupa Workshops – Art and Cinema at School,” held from November 9 to 24, 2024, at the Salão Nobre of Piscina Solário Atlântico. The exhibition showcased works created by students during animation workshops in schools, including drawings, paper cut out characters and backgrounds, 3D puppets and sets and examples of other techniques as well as documentaries on the film-making processes. The exhibition welcomed over 2,500 visitors, including school groups, organized groups, and the general public.

In 2017, an exhibition and screening of the project "Animated Stories from Museums" was organized at the Soares dos Reis National Museum. This event featured an exhibition of all the artistic materials used in the films (such as set models, characters, planning studies, or storyboards) and screenings of the films during sessions held for educational, social, and cultural institutions, as well as for the general public.
The event culminated in a discussion panel with representatives from the participating museums, Anilupa´s team who guided the workshops, representatives of the Municipal Program Porto de Crianças, and teachers from the participating schools. This debate aimed to reflect on the journey and work processes undertaken and to demonstrate that much can be achieved in fostering the exchange of knowledge between museums and educational institutions. The discussion highlighted the importance of creating equal opportunities for access to cultural life, as well as establishing informal and learning through play activities both inside and outside the classroom.
